I never though I would miss St. Gabriel's so much. The cramped canteen, the stupid vending machine selling bottled water you can get for free at the water cooler next to it, the unbelievably clean toilets, the mysteriously safe place where a handphone will still be there an hour later, the classroom computer consoles, password protected, yet everyone knows the password so much so that it is redundant. The front door padlock that I used to open and close every morning. It's key cut a gaping hole in my wallet's coin pocket. Ms Chua's "Chairmaaaannnn!". The perpetually dirty floors. The backboard where all our faces used to have a home. All bleed nostalgia. It only hurts when you know that its gone forever.
You can’t erase You can’t replace it I miss it now I can’t believe it So hard to stay Too hard to leave it If I could relive those days I know the one thing that would never change Its so nice to see students of 4E6 '07 sitting a their original places again. Such a rare chance, yet not everyone was there. A good sign that those days are past. They say good things don't last. Well guys, look what we've given up and put ourselves into along the process of growing up. I can't speak for everyone, but where I am now sure pales in comparison. I still vaguely remember the first day I stepped into this place. Reluctance. All I knew was that I failed to get into Maris Stella. Great. Now I wouldn't give this memories up for the world. Like Kyou, I too can fill at least 3 books chronicling what I've been through in this school. Sure, there are bad times. But the good times shine through, and I'll never forget the friends that I've made, or the times we been together. Some things you remember. Some things you just can't forget. There is never a bad place. Neighborhood school or not, it took me where I am now, and I am thankful it made me who I am today. For those who don't like their secondary school or can't wait to be gone, I pity you. |
